LEAGUE APPLICATION FOR 2026/27 SEASON

MINI LEAGUE FINALS
These have been arranged for Saturday, 23rd May 2026 at Minehead AFC. Further details will be sent directly to clubs. This is always a very special event and a highlight of the league's calendar every season.

AGM - Monday 15th June - 7.30 pm at Taunton Town FC.
PRESENTATION EVENING - Sunday 28th June at the Activity Warehouse in Bridgwater (Same venue as last season). Timings to be shared nearer the time, but save the date!

GRASSROOTS RESPECT SHOP

REFEREES
Clubs must pay the Referee before the game starts unless agreed with the Referee. If the league have to pay a Referee because they have not been paid, then a fine will be sent to the club. Please look after the match officials.
Somerset FA have several Referee courses arranged for the summer. There is an adult-only course in July and a standard course in August. Details of these courses and more, along with information on how to register, can be found at the Somerset FA website, or register your details with the league, who will support you through the process via https://forms.gle/cGqpmwyErsc2pJ176
LEAGUE SPONSORSHIP
We are always looking for ways to raise sponsorship for the League to support our Members. As an example, our trophy bill is well over £4000 per season.
The league is seeking sponsors for the cup competitions it arranges, along with other sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to get involved with Youth football.

NEW SEASON, NEW KITS?
As we head towards the new season, please be aware that any new kit designs must be sent to the league secretary for approval before purchasing. Failure to do this, and if the new design is not compliant with the FA rule, then you may be asked to stop wearing and replace, which will impact your fixtures potentially.
The league also works very closely with local kit manufacturer Karuta Sportswear, and they do a great deal for our member clubs. To find out more and to speak to them about your kits and teamwear, email them at tom@karuta-sportswear.com
END OF SEASON AWARDS
Our primary league partner, HO Soccer, has supported us once again with all the league and cup trophies and is ready to supply your clubs with the trophies you need for your end-of-season celebrations.
Also, if you have won trophies at a cup final or are expecting to win trophies at the Awards Event and need more for your squad than the 16 that the league supplies, then contact HO Soccer to order additional trophies.

FLARES AND PYROTECHNICS
Please remember that flares and pyrotechnics are not only a breach of FA rule, but there are also UK laws that prevent the possession and use of them. Please ensure that you are not using them in your celebrations.
TRIALS AND OPEN TRAINING
Until the end of May, all players are still registered with the current season club, so please ensure that any trials or open training sessions in preparation for next season comply with all FA player registration and transfer rules. This will help to prevent a breach of the rules and to maintain professional working relationships across clubs.
TOURNAMENTS AND CHARITY MATCHES
If you are planning to host a tournament or charity match this summer, please get in touch with support@somersetfa.com with the plans and details, as the event may require sanctioning.
